River Trent at Clifton Bridge · 1.9 km away

Rising — up 6 cm over the last 6 h

That’s below the level where this path usually starts to flood.

This flood line starts from years of this gauge’s history — the level the river only tops a few days a year. Reports of a flooded or passable day will tune it to the path itself.

About this path

The broad riverside promenade and parkland on the north bank of the Trent between Trent Bridge and the Wilford bridges, used by runners, commuting cyclists and families. The riverside footpaths flood whenever the Trent comes out of bank: in January 2021, and again during Storm Henk in January 2024, water covered the path from Trent Bridge to the tram bridge.

Flood Path is advisory and not safety-critical — river readings come from public feeds with no guarantee, and conditions can change fast in heavy rain. Use your own judgement on the day.
